Do you want to prepare yourself for the cycling season? Do you feel like
cycling through rough plateaus with beautiful views? Then let the Cevennes,
famous for the Cevennes Valleys, the Monts Lozère mountains, ‘Mont
Aigoual (1565m), the Col de Finiels’ (1541m) and the Col du
Pré-de-la-Dame (1474m), take you by surprise and take part in one of our
cycle training camps.
|
|
Each spring we run 7-day (Saturday to Saturday) all-inclusive cycle training camps for motivated
cyclists. From our base in the heart of the Cevennes you will undertake a series of demanding day rides. |
|
|
A support vehicle will accompany each ride and provide food and technical assistance
throughout.
To give you an idea of the types of rides we are
offering, here are two examples: |
|
Col de Finiels par Le Bleymard

Le Granite

This ride takes you through the rough granite mountain range of the ‘Monts
Lozère’. The ride starts with a 12 km climb towards St. Maurice-
de-Ventalon and then descends eastwards to Vialas and Genolhac (via the
D998). From there the climb of the Col du Pré-de-la-Dame (1474m) will
start. |
After descending to Villefort you ride west on the D901 to Le Bleymard
from where you will climb the Col de Finiels (1541m). You then descend to
Pont-de-Montvert and return to ‘Les Cessenades’ via St.
Maurice-de-Ventalon.
|
La Vallée Française

The first part of the ride takes you to the Col de Jalcreste (975m) and then via the N106 to
Cassagnas. You then steadily climb the D62 to the village of Barre-des-Cévennes and then take the D9 to the Corniche des
Cevennes.
|
|
You
will continue following this beautiful road until crossing the D40 when
you will descend through St. Croix-Vallée-Française and then to the
village of St. Etienne-Vallée-Française. From there you will climb to
St. Germain-de-Calberte and continue to the Col-de-Jalcreste via the
village of St. André-de-Lancize returning to ‘Les Cessenades’ on the
N106.
